Spring storm to impact Brainerd Lakes area tonight thru Thursday

Here's an updated look at expected ice and snow accumulations starting tonight through Thursday. The mixed precipitation is expected to start tonight, with the greatest ice accumulations up to one quarter of an inch in northwest Wisconsin. This may lead to slick roads and hazardous travel conditions for the Wednesday morning commute. There may also be some tree damage and power outages due to the ice and gusty winds. The mixed precipitation will gradually transition over to mostly snow Wednesday night into Thursday.

TONIGHT... Light rain, sleet, possibly mixed with freezing rain and snow in the evening, then light snow, sleet, possibly mixed with freezing rain and rain after midnight. Snow and sleet accumulation up to 1 inch. Lows in the upper 20s. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph with gusts to around 25 mph becoming northeast 5 to 10 mph after midnight.
