Powerful winter storm to impact area this weekend

A powerful winter storm has its sights set on the Northland for tonight through Sunday afternoon, which will greatly impact travel conditions. Travel on area roadways will likely be dangerous to nearly impossible Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Storm total snow accumulations between 10 to 20+ inches total over most of the region, with the heaviest amounts near Lake Superior.

Blizzard conditions will be possible along the North Shore Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning.

For those that have holiday plans, if at all possible, delay travel to avoid the peak of the storm!

Snow should taper off Sunday morning and afternoon from west to east.
