Heavy snow and blowing snow today and tonight

There has been a shift to the expected snowfall today, but wind speeds will still remain strong.

Heavy snow will continue to spread across the area today. Strong northwest winds with gusts of 35 to 45 mph will lead to blowing snow.

Snow tapers off Wednesday night over most of the region while lake-effect snow continues across northwest Wisconsin into Thursday and Thursday night.

Dangerous wind chills arrive tonight

Dangerous wind chills will be seen Wednesday night through Thursday night.

1/2: Bands of snow and strongest winds will persist across far southeast ND and much of west central through north central MN through mid afternoon - with significant reductions in visibility still likely. Expect condition to improve from the northwest throughout the afternoon.

Blizzard Warning has been issued for Cass, Crow Wing and Aitkin counties until midnight. This replaces the Winter Storm Warning for these counties.
