I spied a pecan pie with a handmade crust, beautifully baked to a caramel color. It was in a red pie dish, and there was one piece missing. You could instantly tell that the integrity of the pie was solid since the cross section was revelatory of all the nutty, sweet, crusty excellence. I didn't even wait to sit down; I hardly even waited to put a fork into it. Illustration
