Crow Wing County is working with a company called Everbridge on sending emergency and community alerts to its citizens through telephone calls, emails, text messages and through telecommunication for people who are deaf or blind. The Everbridge system broadcasts messages at high speed to thousands of calls per minute. This screenshot shows how the county can select an area of people they want to alert for the the notification.

The installation of emergency sirens are decided by the governments of each jurisdiction, the Crow Wing County Board heard Tuesday. There are currently 43 sirens in the county. The board is seeking recommendations from the county emergency management director for whether to locate sirens within Unorganized Territory (First Assessment District). Source: Crow Wing County
