Cedar Scott-Lumbar shakes a snow covered pine branch Saturday, Dec. 30, during the Brainerd Nordic Ski Invitational at the Northland Arboretum. A snow storm during Christmas week blanketed the area with 8-10 inches of snow. Arnaud Maldague, 29, of Brussels, Belgium stayed more than a week at the Mississippi Headwaters Hostel at Itasca State Park before continuing this week on what he expects to be a three-year, non-motorized journey from the Arctic Ocean shore of Canada to the southern tip of Argentina.
