Pequot Lakes sixth-grader Cassidy Wick recently competed at the 39th annual Northland Figure Skating Competition in Duluth from Thursday, Jan. 31 to Sunday, Feb. 3. The event hosted roughly 450 skaters and skate teams from all over the Midwest and Canada for four days of competition. Wick placed first in Pre-Juvenile Light Entertainment/Showcase, third in Pre-Juvenile Jumps and also passed her United States Figure Skating Juvenile Freeskate Test. Wick, the daughter of Robert and Lynn Wick, is a member of the Vacationland Figure Skating Club in Brainerd and is coached by her mom.
