Longtime instructor John Wallin was recently honored by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for passing 50 years of teaching firearms safety courses.
In his time as an instructor, Wallin said the one of the greatest changes he has noticed is a more engaged student body that is being pulled in several directions by various other activities.
Wallin, who teaches the courses at Pequot Lakes High School with his brother Calvin, was presented with an award by conservation officer Eric Sullivan in front of his class in the school’s gathering room.
