Bailey Wynn earned two separate most valuable player awards at the Pine River-Backus Tiger volleyball teams banquet on Monday, April 9.

Wynn was named the Tigers' postseason MVP and earned co-defensive MVP honors with Gabby Rainwater. The pair led the team in digs, with Wynn tallying 359 and Rainwater picking up 347 for a team that went 24-8 on the season and earned a state tournament berth.

Offensive MVP honors went to Alyssa Semmler, who led the team with 419 kills. She was also the team leader in blocks with 110.

Though coach Josh Hirschey felt many of his athletes greatly improved this season, the team's Most Improved award went to sophomore Emma Barchus, while Ellie Smith earned the "Seventh Man" award and Anna Felthous took home the "Tiger Tough" Award.

Freshman Olivia Adkins was named Rookie of the Year.

Wynn was recognized for leading the team in ace serves with 38, and Jaime Johnson was honored for having the best hitting percentage with 95 percent.

"It just felt like the bigger the game toward the end, the less she worried," Hirschey said. "She played hard all year, but she had a free sense about her and kept playing better and better."

Ariana Kramp led the team in serve percentage, and Anna Downie earned the team's leadership award.

Freshman Rylie Hirschey was the team leader in set assists with 439.

Wynn, Hirschey and Semmler earned all-conference honors, while Rainwater and Barchus earned honorable mentions.
