Volleyball: Tigers cruise past Wildcats

The Tiger volleyball team kicked the season off with a commanding win over Laporte

With 22 ace serves, the Pine River-Backus Tigers opened up their season in a big way with a 3-0 thrashing of the Laporte Wildcats Thursday, Aug. 26.

The Tigers held Laporte to three points in the first match, and eight in the second before sealing the sweep with a 25-15 victory.

Claire Dahl and Chloe Andrus each finished with seven ace serves. Hannah Barchus posted five kills, five ace serves and three digs while Emily Hanneken led the Tigers with eight kills.
