Volleyball: Patriots 2-3 in Albertville

Class 2A’s sixth-ranked Pequot Lakes Patriots went 2-3 over the weekend at the St. Michael Albertville Invitational.

They defeated Grand Rapids 2-0 before losing 2-0 to Class 4A’s 10th-ranked St. Michael-Albertville Friday, Oct. 15.

They dropped a match to Canby 2-0 before defeating Buffalo 2-1 Saturday, Oct. 16. They finished the tournament with a 2-0 loss to Class 3A’s third-ranked Willmar Cardinals. Pequot moves to 18-5 on the season.

Abi Martin recorded 51 set assists, 16 digs, two kills and an ace to help the class 2A sixth-ranked Pequot Lakes Patriots defeat the class 2A ninth-ranked Maple Lake Irish 3-1 Tuesday, Oct. 12.

Maci Martini and Ella Kratochvil both tallied 17 kills and 11 digs for the Patriots while Kelsi Martini added 11 digs.
