PR-B girls 3rd, boys 5th at Walker

The Pine River-Backus girls finished third while the Tiger boys were fifth at the Northland Conference meet on Thursday, May 10, in Walker.

Walker-Hackensack-Akeley won the girls title with 145 points, followed by Clearbrook-Gonvick with 141. PR-B finished with 40 points. W-H-A also won the boys title with 167.5 while Clearbrook-Gonvick was second with 72. The Tigers compiled 55 points.

The PR-B girls’ 4x800-meter relay of Emma Templeton, Claire Dahl, Anna Sechser and Sidney Lodge were first in 10:46.62. Lodge was also third in three events - 1:05.78 in the 400 dash, 12:58.58 in the 3,200 run and 31 feet, 1.5 inches in the triple jump.

The PR-B boys’ 4x200 relay of Mike Ford, Austin Beavers, Nate Wosmek, Austin Rateike finished first in 1:40.49. Wosmek was second in the 110 hurdles in 15.71 and also the 300 hurdles in 43.23 . Finishing third for PR-B was Isaac Krecklau, 4:20.58 in the 1,600 run and 12:40.27 in the 3,200.
