Tigers cruise past Laporte

Henry Krecklau led the Pine River-Backus Tigers with 18 points while teammate Konrad Bueckers grabbed 18 rebounds in a regular-season ending 75-44 Northland Conference victory over Laporte on Thursday, Feb. 19.

Hank Raph had 16 points, while Bueckers and Zach Struss each added 12 for the Tigers, who finish 8-6 in the conference and 14-11 overall. Laporte finishes 0-14 in conference play.

PR-B enjoyed a big edge in almost every statistic, including Rebounds (50-27), assists (20-7) and steals (13-4). Raph finished with nine assists while Bueckers had five steals.

Fifth-seeded PR-B is scheduled to play at No. 4 Bertha-Hewitt in the North Subsection 5A quarterfinals at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26.
