The Pequot Lakes Patriots captured six titles and the team championship in the Mid-State Conference Tournament at Staples and Wadena on Saturday, Sept. 15.

"Our team goal was to try to finish in the top two and,hopefully first, so it was exciting to achieve that and bring home the team trophy," coach Monica Sergent said. "All of the girls worked really hard and played well."

Morgan Mudgett of Pequot Lakes finished first at No. 2 singles, Courtney Boller won at No. 3 singles and Madeline Pluimer at No. 4 singles. Erin Bengtson-Madeline Sherman were champs at No. 2 doubles and Morgan Lueck-Afton Crocker were first at No. 3 doubles.

Boller of Pequot Lakes won at No. 2 singles in two perfect sets as the Patriots defeated the Aitkin Gobblers 7-0 on Monday, Sept. 17.

Carly Chaney of Pequot Lakes also won in perfect sets at No. 4 singles, as did the Patriots' doubles pair of Afton Crocker-Morgan Lueck in the Mid-State Conference meet. Crocker is currently 25-1 while Boller is 24-1.

Muller at No. 1 singles won 6-0, 6-0 to increase her season record to 20-2 in a 6-1 Mid-State Conference win for the Pequot Lakes Patriots over the Staples-Motley Cardinals Thursday, Sept 13.

"Because this was a conference match, it was important and it affected seeding for the upcoming Mid-State Tournament," Sergent said. "The girls played well, and it was nice to get matches for all of the JV players, too."
