Megan Muller of Pequot Lakes went 2-0 at No.1 singles to help the Patriots to a 7-0 win over Roseau and a 6-1 win over East Grand Forks Thursday, Aug. 30.

Muller is now 13-1 overall.

"All of the singles players were very focused against both Roseau and East Grand Forks. Their ground strokes were very consistent, and the girls stuck to their goals to keep their opponents deep and keep the ball low and out the the wind. In all sixteen sets of singles, Megan Muller, Morgan Mudgett, Courtney Boller, and Madeline Pluimer only gave up one game each. That is pretty impressive ... The doubles players also had a great day and are really demonstrating team chemistry on the court."

Teammates Morgan Lueck-Afton Crocker are currently 15-0 at No. 3 doubles.

The three wins improved the doubles team's record to 13-0 and helped Pequot beat Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 7-0, Park Rapids 5-2 and Crookston 4-0.

"The girls all played well throughout the day. It wasn't easy for them to keep their focus with the frequent "drizzle delays," but they managed it."

Muller went 2-0 and Boller finished 3-0 at No. 3 singles.

"All of the girls displayed good decision making and court strategy today which shows a lot of growth in their tennis knowledge," Sergent said. "That is rewarding to see."
