Morgan Mudgett defeated her No. 2 singles opponent 6-0, 6-0 as the Pequot Lakes Patriot tennis team claimed a 7-0 victory over Crosby-Ironton in a Mid-State Conference meet Thursday, Sept. 21. The win was the team's 12th in a row.

"Due to a 28-match limit for players per regular season, we mixed our line up a little for the C-I match," coach Monica Sergent said. "We have several players that are quite close in ability, so I wasn't worried. It was good for the players to see that we can have a strong showing and have fun playing different positions. It can be good to get a little bit out of our 'comfort zone.' Crosby-Ironton is in our conference and our section, so we always try to focus and do well when we play them. I was proud of everyone's efforts."

Alexis Lueck at No.1 singles won her match 6-1, 6-1 for the Patriots. Mudgett has won 17 of her 18 matches at No. 2 singles. Ellie Saxerud improved her record to 22-3.
