Ellie Ouradnik and Aubrey Wiczek won their No. 3 doubles match 6-1, 6-0 to help the No. 2 seeded Pequot Lakes Patriots defeat the seventh-seeded Forest Lake Rangers 7-0 in the Section 7-2A quarterfinals Thursday, Oct. 7.
“Forest Lakes definitely gave us strong competition at each position,” head coach Monica Sergent said. “I felt that we played much better as a team in this match than we did in the first round … I am very proud of this team and the way they give 100 percent all the time.”
Megan Muller won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles as the Patriots remain undefeated on the season. Pequot Lakes will host the winner of Blaine and Cambridge-Isanti in the Section 7-2A semifinals Thursday, Oct. 14.

Neither Megan Muller nor the No. 2 doubles team of Payton Mudgett-Allyson Yahn dropped a game Tuesday, Oct. 5, to lead the No. 2 seeded Pequot Lakes Patriots to a 7-0 victory over No. 15 Hermantown the Section 7-2A opening round.
“It is always a good feeling to get that first playoff win in the book,” Sergent said. “We played well at all positions and won in straight sets.”
Muller improved to 25-2, while No. singles player Carly Chaney improved to 29-0 and Riley Fogarty jumped to 26-1.
Mudgett-Yahn’s victory pushed their season record to 27-2
