Quinn Trottier recorded a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 4 singles to help Pequot Lakes sweep the singles and defeat Virginia 6-1 Thursday, Sept. 3.
Megan Muller, Carly Chaney and Riley Fogarty also picked up singles victories for a Patriots team that moves to 3-0 on the season.
“This was a big match for us as we had a battle against Virginia last season to win the Section 7A championship and advance to the state tournament,” head coach Monica Sergent said. “The girls were very excited to play good competition and determined to rise to the challenge. In spite of it being a very windy day, we played well at every position. The girls were very poised and placed their shots well.”

In a rematch of last year’s Section 7-1A team championship, Pequot scored doubles wins from Kelbee Lampi-Macy Martini and Kate Bolz-Andolsek-Kelsei Martini to improve to 3-0 this season.
