Tennis: Patriots open with win over C-I

Pequot Lakes No. 1 singles player Megan Muller led the Patriots to a 7-0 Mid-State Conference victory over Crosby-Ironton with her 6-0, 6-0 win over Monica Stokman.

“Everyone played well today,” head coach Monica Sergent said. “I was especially pleased with the consistency of our ground strokes and our serving considering it was the first match of the season. It was fun to get the season rolling.”

Quinn Trottier also won without dropping a game at No. 4 singles. Fellow singles players Carly Chaney and Riley Fogarty also picked up straight-sets victories.

In doubles, the team of Kate Bolz-Andolshek-Kelsei Martini won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3.

No. 1 doubles team and co-captains Afton Crocker and Morgan Lueck also picked up a 6-4, 6-1 victory.
