Payton Mudgett and Allyson Yahn brought their No. 2 doubles match to three sets as the Pequot Lakes Patriots saw their season end in the Section 7-2A Team Championship as they fell to the Elk River Elks 7-0 Saturday, Oct. 17.
“While we played much better than the final score reflected, much credit needs to be given to a solid and deep Elk River team,” head coach Monica Sergent said. “I felt that our players played extremely well and embraced the challenge of a championship match, but we couldn't quite close out enough points and games--lots of deuce games that did not go our way.”
Riley Fogarty also took her No. 4 singles match to three sets.

“Finishing 27-1 and second in Section 7AA is a real achievement,” Sergent said. “I am very proud of this team and our entire program for the time, dedication and commitment that they show to Pequot Lakes Patriot tennis.”
