Stone named MVP of Warrior skiers

Pequot Lakes senior Alex Stone was named most valuable player of the Brainerd Warriors girls alpine skiing team at the team's banquet Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Pequot Lakes senior Alex Stone was named most valuable player of the Brainerd Warriors girls alpine skiing team at the team's banquet Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Stone ended her skiing career with an eighth-place finish at the state alpine ski meet on Wednesday, Feb. 15, finishing with a first-round time of 38.87 and a second-round time of 39.45. It was her second consecutive top-10 finish in the state meet, as she earned a 10th-place finish as a junior.

She will attend Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and will play golf at the collegiate level.
