Pitcher Morgan Eckes propelled Pequot Lakes to two wins, including a no-hitter, as the Patriots finished 2-1 at the Frazee tournament Saturday, April 17.
In the team’s loss, Kaitlyn Geschchwill pitched a complete-game, finishing with nine strikeouts and allowing two earned runs on six hits and two walks in a 3-1 loss to Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton. Taylor Sherack hit an RBI single in the seventh, but the Patriots left the bases loaded.
In a season-opening 1-0 victory over Frazee, Maci Martini hit a solo home run in the fourth inning for the team’s lone run. It was her first varsity hit.
Eckes allowed two hits and four walks and struck out eight.
In a four-inning 16-1 blowout of East Grand Forks, Eckes struck out five, walked four and didn’t allow a hit while giving up a single unearned run.

Maya Orvis finished 4-4 with two doubles and five RBIs. Geschwill, Afton Crocker and Quinn Trottier each posted two hits, including a home run by Geschwill.
