Morgan Eckes blasted a three-run home run to give Pequot Lakes a 7-5 lead in the top of the seventh against Hawley in Game Two of the Section 8-2A final Friday, June 11.
Hawley stormed back and scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to walk it off and beat the top-seeded Patriots 8-7.
Eckes finished with three strikeouts and pitched 4.1 innings. Kaitlyn Geschwill recorded the loss in relief of Eckes.
Maya Orvis went 3-3 with three runs scored. Eckes finished with two hits and six RBIs. The Patriots tallied five hits total and Hawley tallied 10 hits.
Pequot Lakes finished with a 21-6 record.

Abi Martin hit a two-run double helping the No. 1 seeded Patriots to a four-run fifth inning, which they turned into a 6-3 victory over No. 2 seeded Hawley in Game One of the Section 8-2A Championship Thursday, June 10.
Geschwill pitched the victory. She struck out nine and scattered six hits and two walks.

Orvis was 2-3 with two runs and Taylor Sherack was 2-4 with two RBIs for Pequot.

A three-run final inning lifted the Patriots to a 10-8 victory over the fourth-seeded Frazee Hornets in the Section 8-2A loser’s bracket Thursday, June 10.

Geschwill doubled twice and drove in two runs. Orvis was 3-4 with a double and two runs and Sherack was 3-5 with a run. Kelsi Martini doubled and Maci Martini tripled for Pequot.
Eckes struck out six and walked two for the victory.
