With its 10-0 record in conference play and 21-6 record overall, the Pequot Lakes Patriot softball team secured six spots on the All-Mid-State Conference Softball Team.
Landing spots for the Patriots were Morgan Eckes (junior, pitcher), Kaitlyn Geschwill (sophomore, pitcher), Maci Martini (sophomore, shortstop), Maya Orvis (junior, third baseman), Afton Crocker, (senior, first baseman) and Catherine Ganley (senior, outfielder).
At the team’s awards program on Tuesday, June 22, Eckes and Geschwill were named co-recipients of the Most Valuable Player award.
Geschwill also earned the “Golden Glove” award, as did Rita Ganley. Crocker was named the team’s most improved player, Catherine Ganley earned the Patriot Award and Orvis was honored for having the team’s highest batting average, hitting .425 on the season.
The Patriots finished the season second in the section, falling to Hawley 8-7 in the Section 8-2A Championship game.

Additionally, the team earned an All-Academic Gold Award with an average GPA of 3.87.
