Both the varsity and junior varsity teams brought home trophies as the Revolution Dance Team competed at the Detroit Lakes Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 2. In the jazz competition, both teams took first place against a field of 2A and 3A teams. Varsity took second place in high kick, which Alexandria won by three points. Junior varsity took first place in high kick.

"I am insanely proud of both teams after today's competition, we always enjoy competing in Detroit Lakes and it was a great start to our competitive season," assistant coach Gabrielle Carey said. "Both varsity teams had great performances, placing first in Jazz and second in Kick.

"The jazz team has been working on telling a story with their dance and it really came through today with lots of emotions and great faces. There were a few timing issues however it is still very early in the season with lots of time to improve. Varsity kick had a few spacing issues but overall had an amazing performance, the team was full of energy the entire time and nailed the spots we have really been cleaning. There were only three points that separated us from Alexandria who placed first and I think it is really going to motivate the girls to work even harder than they already have been."

Junior Varsity Coach Rachael Kline added, "I am extremely proud of both my JV Jazz and High Kick teams for placing first in both Jazz and High Kick. As this was first performance, I couldn't have asked for a better outcome."
