Brett Kramer struck out six and allowed two late runs on seven hits and six walks to pitch the Fort Ripley Rebels to a 4-2 Victory League amateur baseball victory over the visiting Nisswa Lightning on Sunday, June 18.
Kramer lost his shutout bid in the ninth when Nisswa scored its two runs. Tory Miller, who finished 3-4 with a double and a walk, led off the top of the ninth with a single. Jeremiah Piepkorn doubled and Adam Hardy doubled to score Piepkorn.
Kramer then forced Chris Peterson to fly out to left to end the game and give Fort Ripley a comfortable 3 ½ game lead in the North Division standings.
The Rebels' Nick Jelacie smoked a two-out home run in the seventh and finished 2-3 with two runs. Rhett Williamson was 2-3 with a run. Jason Sather drove in a run and Bill Sather was 1-4 with a double and an RBI.
The Nisswa Lightning's scheduled game at Buckman saturday was postponed
