DULUTH — Pequot Lakes’ Peyton Mudgett- Ellie Ouradnik advanced to the quarterfinals but were defeated by a pair from Hibbing in the Section 7-2A Individual Tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

In singles, Quinn Trottier and Allyson Yahn won their opening round matches, but both lost in the second round.

In securing her first-round win, Trottier earned her 90th career victory.

The other Pequot doubles team of Kelbee Lampi and Aubrey Wiczek also reached the second round.

“I was extremely happy with all six of these players for how well they competed at the individual tournament,” head coach Monica Sergent said. “I believe it is the first time ever that we have had all six players advance to the second round. That is a pretty remarkable accomplishment. It was a great day of tennis overall and fun to see our players finish strong.”
