The Pine River-Backus Tigers boys’ golf team has some questions as they switch to a new section this spring.

“There’s a lot of unknowns about the competition in our new section,” PR-B coach Steve Heslop said. “We are still a young team with Brady Bristow being our only senior.”

Besides Bristow, other letterwinners are Joe Zaczkowski, Isaiah Aulie and Ethan Burns. Others who could contribute are Gavin Tulenchik, Connor Mink and Elik Vanderbeek.

Last spring, Zaczkowski finished eighth at the Section 6A meet to qualify for state.

“Joe has his sights set on returning to state again this year,” Heslop said of Zaczkowski, who finished 60th overall at the state meet.

Rick Aulie is an assistant coach for the Tigers.

PR-B is scheduled to open the season Thursday, April 7, at Detroit Lakes.
