The Pequot Lakes Patriots boys’ golf team has six letterwinners returning, including two-time Class 2A state participant Tyler Seeling.
“I can see Tyler being in the top five for Class 2A,” Pequot Lakes coach Steve Stoxen said of the senior. “His strength as a golfer is his attitude and course management. Tyler plays even-keeled, and doesn’t get flustered. He has the ability to bring his game back.”Other letterwinners include seniors Cooper Johnson and Quady Bernu, juniors Anthony Armstrong and Isaac Seeker and sophomore Ethan Thomas. Others who could contribute are Tollef Birkeland, Hunter Oeschlager and Logan Fogarty.
“We’re looking to get back to winning the (Mid-Minnesota) conference again in 2022,” Stoxen said. “Depth should be our strength this year.”
Last spring, the Patriots finished second behind Staples-Motley in the Section 6-2A meet. Seeling finished third overall to qualify for state, where he tied for 23rd place.
Assistant coaches are Robert Fischer and Tyler Gognion.
