PEQUOT LAKES — Morgan Eckes struck out nine in the circle and went 2-for-4 with an RBI as the No. 3 Pequot Lakes Patriots beat the No. 14 Milaca Wolves 8-0 in the Section 6-2A opening round Monday, May 23.

Maya Orvis ripped a double for Pequot’s only extra-base hit in the win.

Upsala 3, Patriots 2 (9 innings)

On Thursday, May 19, Pequot Lakes pitcher Kaitlyn Geschwill went 8.2 innings and struck out 18 while giving up two earned runs as the Pequot Lakes Patriots fell to the Upsala Cardinals 3-2 in nine innings Thursday, May 19.

Brea Eckes tallied two hits for the Patriots while Kelsi Martini recorded a double.

Patriots sweep Detroit Lakes

Morgan Eckes and Geschwill each pitched no-hitters for the Pequot Lakes Patriots as they swept the visiting Detroit Lakes Lakers 10-0, 10-0, in a Mid-State Conference doubleheader Tuesday, May 17.

Morgan Eckes got the win in Game One as she struck out six over five innings while also going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs at the plate.

Kelsi Martini went 3-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Brea Eckes went 3-4 with a double and Orvis and Geschwill each finished 2-3 for Pequot in Game One.

Geschwill struck out 12 over six innings in Game Two.

Maci Martini was 2-3 with an RBI in Game Two while Abi Martin recorded a double.
