Pine River-Backus Tigers fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 13-4 loss to Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Varsity Wolves on Monday, May 2.
The Tigers scored three runs in the seventh inning. Julia Shogren had an RBI double in the inning to lead the run scoring. But the Wolves scored seven runs in the bottom of the seventh to complete their win.
Aaliyah Lewis took the loss for the Tigers, lasted seven innings, allowing seven hits and 14 runs while striking out three.
The Tigers racked up ten hits in the game. Ariana Burns, Caylei Johnson, and Julia Shogren each collected two hits to lead the Tigers.
In Game Two, a walk-off left Pine River-Backus Tigers on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Wolves in the second game of the doubleheader. The game was tied at four with the Wolves batting in the bottom of the fifth when they drew a walk, scoring the winning run.

The Tigers notched three runs in the third inning including a triple by Ariana Burns and a hit by Andrea James.
Burns took the loss for the Tigers, went four and a third innings, allowing five runs on one hit and striking out four.
Shogren, Victoria Koering, Ramsey Tulenchik, and Burns each managed one hit to lead Pine River-Backus Tigers Varsity.
