Girls Basketball: Five Patriots make all-area team

Six area girls basketball players – five from Pequot Lakes and one from Pine River-Backus – have been named to the Brainerd Dispatch All-Area Teams.

Four of Pequot Lakes starters and PR-B’s Ramsey Tulenchik earned all-area first team honors, while Pequot Lakes’ Ella Kratochvil was named to the second team.

Players are selected by their coaches and then voted on by the Brainerd Dispatch sports department.

Junior, guard

Finished with 642 points (19.5 per game), 176 rebounds (5.3 per game), 98 assists (3.0 per game) and 82 steals. She shot 46% (217-413) from the field, 45% (105-236) from 3-point and 84% (103-122) from the free throw line.

Kelsi Martini, Pequot Lakes

Sophomore, guard

Finished with 357 points (10.8 per game), 111 rebounds (3.4 per game), 58 assists (1.8 per game) and 81 steals. She shot 46% (128-277) from the field, 39% (37-95) from 3-point and 72% (64-89) from the free throw line.

Isabel Larson, Pequot Lakes

Sophomore, guard

Finished with 424 points (12.8 per game), 131 rebounds (4.0 per game), 116 assists (3.5 per game) and 69 steals. She shot 48% (151-317) from the field, 27% (27-100) from 3-point and 74% (95-129) from the free throw line.

Lauren Schultz, Pequot Lakes

Sophomore, guard

Finished with 232 points (7.0 per game), 204 rebounds (6.2 per game), 50 assists (1.5 per game), 64 steals and 14 blocked shots. She shot 46% (71-156) from the field, 27% (10-37) from 3-point and 64% (80-126) from the free throw line.

Ramsey Tulenchik, Pine River-Backus

Junior, center

Finished with 639 points (25.6 per game), 264 rebounds (10.6 per game), 56 assists (2.2 per game), 88 steals and 50 blocked shots. She shot 53% (236-444) from the field and 58% (165-284) from the free throw line.

Ella Kratochvil, Pequot Lakes

Sophomore, forward

Finished with 198 points (6.0 per game), 140 rebounds (4.2 per game), 64 assists (1.9 per game), 63 steals and 16 blocked shots. She shot 44% (74-169) from the field and 70% (48-69) from the free throw line.
