RED LAKE — Owen Dabill needed just five rushing attempts to reach 105 yards and two touchdowns as the Pine River-Backus Tigers football team routed the Red Lake Warriors 61-0 Thursday, Oct. 13.
Ethan Lodge carried the ball four times for 92 yards and two scores as PR-B needed just 24 offensive plays to amass 324 yards of total offense. The Tigers didn’t attempt a pass as they improved to 5-2 overall.
“Fielding a team has been a challenge for Red Lake, but they did have 22 players on their sideline,” PR-B coach Tom Demars said of the Warriors. “I give them credit for sticking with it.”
Eli Abraham finished with two interceptions and Tyler Day intercepted a pass and returned it for the final score. Brady Ruhl, Mac Reddick, Chance Abrham and Eli Abrham all recorded rushing touchdowns for the Tigers.
PR-B is scheduled to host Wadena-Deer Creek at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19.

“(W-DC) is the highest scoring team in our district as well as the top offensive team in terms of yardage,” Demars said of the Wolverines, which are 6-1 overall. “They like to spread the field and throw the ball more than any team we play and they can run the ball effectively. We will have to play a great defensive game and put up a few scores ourselves. I think we'll be able to do that, so I'm expecting a great game.”
New York Mills leads the Northwest South standings at 5-1 in district games, followed by W-DC 4-1 and PR-B 3-1.
