FERGUS FALLS — Grant Loge threw four touchdown passes for the Pequot Lakes Patriots they beat the Fergus Falls Otters 34-7 on Friday, Sept. 16.
“I am very, very pleased with our players,” head coach Bill Magnuson said. “We challenged them to come out right away with an attitude and just play football from the start and finish the game … They set the tone right away, had a three and out and we went right down the field and scored. It was a great job executing both offensively and defensively, and we just kind of never let up.”
Two of Loge’s touchdown passes went to Riley Larson in the first half.
He is having a great year because he put in the time and effort.
Through the first three games of the season, Loge has thrown 11 touchdown passes.
“He works very hard, and he is very coachable,” Magnuson said. “He reads extremely well for a high-school quarterback and he gets our system. He changes plays right at the line and gets us out of bad plays. He is having a great year because he put in the time and effort.”
Bryar Nordby caught a first-quarter touchdown pass. JP Elsenpeter caught one touchdown pass in the third quarter and ran in for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
It was also the second time in three games that the Patriot defense stifled an opposing offense and kept them to single digits.
“Last week, we couldn’t stop (Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton) so this week we went back to basics,” head coach Bill Magnuson said. “We did a little more on breaking down and making tackles, and it showed … We did a lot of things positively and it was great to see our defense come up and do that.”
The Patriots return home to face Park Rapids on Friday, Sept. 23.
