NORTHLAND — Pine River Backus’ Konnor King went 2-2 with three RBIs and pitched seven innings where he allowed five hits and struck out 13 as the Tigers beat Northland 12-2 Friday, May 6.

Rian Struss, Ryder Compton and Corbin Knapp all recorded doubles for the Tigers.

CASS LAKE — Pine River-Backus’ Chance Abraham pitched three innings for the Tigers allowing only one hit and striking out seven as they defeated the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers 14-2 in Game One of a doubleheader Thursday, May 5.

Irvin Tulenchik went 3-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs while Owen Carlson went 2-2 with four runs.

Also tallying doubles for the Tigers were Compton and Cash Kangas.

KELLIHER — Pine-River Backus’ Ethan Rugroden went 3-4 with two runs and six RBIs for the Tigers as they defeated Kelliher/Northome 20-3 in Game One of a doubleheader Tuesday, May 3.

In Game Two, the Tigers defeated Lake of the Woods 13-3 with Tulenchik striking out six and Knapp going 2-4 with three RBIs and two runs.
