PINE RIVER — Konnor King and Ryder Compton each earned a win and Pine River-Backus parlayed just seven hits into 25 total runs in a doubleheader sweep over Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on Monday, May 2.
The Tigers won by the scores of 10-0 and 15-1 and improved to 5-0 overall.
In Game One, it was King pitching 4.2 innings, scattering two hits and striking out 10 in the 10-0 win. Chance Abraham scored three runs and Rian Struss doubled.
In Game Two, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley outhit the Tigers by a 4-3 margin, but 16 walks propelled Pine RIver-Backus to a 15-1 win.
Owen Carlson doubled and Corbin Knapp and Compton each collected a hit.

PINE RIVER — Abraham went 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs while ripping two triples as Pine River-Backus defeated Bagley 13-3 Thursday, April 28.
Compton pitched the win. He went four innings while striking out five and added a two-RBI double.
Struss and King each tallied two hits for the Tigers in the win.
