Pine River-Backus baseball defeats Blackduck but falls to Detroit Lakes and Nevis

DETROIT LAKES — Pine River-Backus’ Cadenaden Hamilton went 1-for-1 with an RBI and a run scored but the Tigers fell 15-5 to the Detroit Lakes Lakers Monday, May 23.

Konnor King and Irvin Tulenchik also recorded hits for the Tigers.

Tigers 9, Blackduck 8

On Thursday, May 19, Corbin Knapp went 3-for-5 including the walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh and picked up the win on the mound for the Pine River-Backus Tigers in their 9-8 Northland Conference win over the Blackduck Drakes at Bemidji State University.

Owen Carlson and Chance Abraham tallied two hits for the Tigers. Rian Struss and Ethan Rugroden each had doubles in the win.

Nevis 4, Tigers 3

On Tuesday, May 17, Pine River-Backus’ Konnor King threw six innings and struck out seven as the Tigers fell 4-3 at Nevis.

Corbin Knapp went 3-for-4 with a run scored and Ryder Compton tallied a double and an RBI for the Tigers.
