PR-B’s Sasse qualifies for state

Pine River-Backus' Saul Sasse qualified for the Class A state individual tournament after firing an 82 for the fourth-place Pine River-Backus Tigers at the Section 6A final round on Thursday, May 29, at Lakeside Golf Club in Perham.

Pine River-Backus’ Saul Sasse qualified for the Class A state individual tournament after firing an 82 for the fourth-place Pine River-Backus Tigers at the Section 6A final round on Thursday, May 29, at Lakeside Golf Club in Perham.
Sasse will play in the Class A state tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 10-11, at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker.
“Toward the middle of the season I started shooting really well, but since then I’ve settled down I’ve been more consistent,” Sasse said in a Brainerd Dispatch story. “It was a really nice day out with some wind, so some shots were harder than they appeared, but I lost the most strokes on the green. I had some 3-putts and need to work on that to prepare for state.”
Sasse finished six strokes behind medalist Caleb Baumann of first-place Ottertail Central.
