Tony Fitzer finished 28th, with a time of 17:20, to help the Pequot Lakes Patriots boys' cross country team place 16th at the St. Olaf College Showcase on Friday, Sept. 2, in Northfield.
In girls' competition, Grace McGuire finished 56th in 21:18 as the Patriots placed 23rd.
Pequot Lakes will host its invitational at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, in Crosslake.

Also on Friday, Sept. 2, some of the Pequot Lakes boys and girls individuals competed at the Run For Your Melon cross country meet at Forestview Middle School in Baxter.

Pequot Lakes boys' results included: Sean Ryan, 37th in 20:31.18, Kam Lee, 42nd in 21:23.43; Trevor Slaybaugh, 46th in 22:15.22; and Brooks Anderson, 48th in 23:40.68. Sunshine Langworthy was 20th in 22:48.66 for the Patriot girls.
