District 9 - Brainerd area
CO Chelsey Best (Crosslake) provided enforcement for fishing, ATV operation, spring fire season and trapping. Enforcement action was taken for registration issues, juveniles operating illegally and no safety certification.
CO Jim Guida (Brainerd East) patrolled area lakes for fishing violations and area ATV trails for all-terrain vehicle violations. Guida addressed numerous youth operators/passengers under the age of 18 without helmets being worn. This also applies with roll cages of Class 2 ATVs. Overlimits of panfish are being monitored.
CO Patrick McGowan (Pine River) worked crappie anglers and turkey hunters throughout the past week. Time was also spent working a Rainy River detail. Enforcement action was taken for numerous violations.
CO Eric Sullivan (Pequot Lakes) patrolled area lakes and checked spring anglers. Fishing in the area was slow due to cold water. Sullivan also worked OHM and ATV traffic in the area.
CO Bob Mlynar (Aitkin) worked angling and turkey hunting activity. Questions were answered regarding bowfishing and sucker spearing. Mlynar also assisted with a search for a boy in Crow Wing County.
