Hunters who want to share their passion for the outdoors with others can attend a hunter mentor training hosted by the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association and DNR.

The training is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at Lazy Jack’s, 6735 Fairgrounds Road NW in Bemidji. Attendees will get the skinny on everything from where to find someone to mentor, how to create positive hunting experiences, how to find hunting opportunities and practical tips.

People who take the training become certified outdoor mentors. Befits of being a certified mentor include membership to the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA), product discounts, and group liability insurance coverage.
