North Stars edged in season opener

Alexandria rallied from a 3-1 first-period deficit to defeat the Breezy Point North Stars 8-5 in the season opener for the North American Tier III Junior hockey team on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Breezy Point Ice Arena.

Jody Randall scored once in each period for the Blizzard while winning goaltender Evan Bisek had 31 saves.

Sean Viti scored two goals for the North Stars while Jordan Carey had a goal and two assists. Joe Costello and Seyia Hayata scored the other North Stars' goals.Netminder Joe Licata stopped 34 shots for Breezy Point, which plays Granite City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, in St. Cloud.
