The Breezy Point North Stars enjoyed a 40-39 edge in shots on goal, but were defeated by the Granite City Lumberjacks 3-1 in North American Tier III junior hockey action on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Breezy Point Arena.
The Lumberjacks scored in each period while the North Stars' only goal was scored by Tyler Larwood in the third period.
Breezy Point did enjoy a 39-25 edge in shots in the first two periods before being outshot 14-1 in the final session.
Winning netminder Robbie Goor stopped 39 shots while North Stars goaltender Magnus Lindhe turned aside 36 shots.
Breezy Point, 3-7 overall, is scheduled to face Lacross, Wis., at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24, at Breezy Point Arena.
