Lightning to host baseball camp

Area youths are invited to learn to play baseball with the Nisswa Lightning at the Lightning Youth Baseball Camp from 1 to 4 p.m., June 11-13, at Nisswa Park.

Area youths are invited to learn to play baseball with the Nisswa Lightning at the Lightning Youth Baseball Camp from 1 to 4 p.m., June 11-13, at Nisswa Park.

The camp provides players an opportunity to develop and improve their baseball skills by focusing on the fundamentals of throwing, fielding, hitting, pitching and baserunning.

Current and former Lightning players will provide daily instruction. Many Lightning players have collegiate and professional baseball experience. The instructional staff is dedicated to helping youths develop and improve their skills.

Boys and girls between the ages of 7-12 are invited to participate.

Advanced registration fee is $35 per camper (deadline is June 9). Fee is $40 after June 9. Campers should provide glove, footwear and bats (a few additional bats will be available).

The camp includes:

• Nine hours of camp instruction over a 3-day period.

• Nisswa Lighting Baseball Camp T-shirt.

• Free admission to the Lightning game June 13.

• Winners of the 10 camp competitions will be recognized at the June 13 Lightning game.

• Make checks payable to: Nisswa Lightning Baseball. Registration must be postmarked by June 9.

• Late registration will be available at camp starting at noon June 11.
