The Pequot Lakes junior varsity boys basketball team concluded their season with an overall record of 20-6, splitting a pair of games this past week. On Tuesday, Feb. 28, they fell to host Pillager by the score of 50-47, before traveling to Perham on Friday, March 3, and defeating the Yellowjackets 41-39 in overtime.
It was a tight game with Pillager, as the score was close throughout before Pillager made a late run to pull out a victory.
Sean Ryan netted a season high 25 points and Dylin Ackerman added 15 in the loss.
The Patriots game against Perham was close throughout, as both teams played solid defense. Perham led 21-18 at the half, and in the second half, the Patriots sent the game into overtime in the final seconds of regulation. In overtime, Austin Meister hit a big 3-point shot with 1.8 seconds left to give the Patriots the two-point win. Ryan led the scoring with 11 points, Austin Meister added 10, and Owen Seidl and Zach Senst each added eight.
