The Minnesota Loons dropped three North American Tier III junior hockey games over the past week to fall to 1-8 overall as a new program.
The Loons lost to the New Ulm Steel 4-3 on Wednesday, Oct. 6, and lost twice to the Oregon Tradesmen - 4-1 on Friday, Oct. 8, and 8-5 on Saturday Oct. 9.
Against the Steel, Blake Keller scored twice while Kyler Couture added a goal and losing netminder Owen Reeve made 33 saves. Wyatt Mattfield had a goal in the loss to Oregon on Oct. 8 while Jamison St. Clair tallied twice and Couture added a goal and an assist against the Tradesmen on Oct. 9.
The Loons are scheduled to play an away/home series against the Granite City Lumberjacks. The Loons play in St. Cloud Friday, Oct. 15, and then at Breezy Point Arena Saturday, Oct. 16. Both games are at 7:30 p.m.
