The Breezy Point North Stars were dominated in a pair of weekend North American Tier III junior hockey games - losing to the Granite City Lumberjacks 14-2 on Friday, Jan. 31, and falling to the Alexandria Blizzard 15-1 on Saturday, Feb. 1.

On Friday, Granite City outshot the North Stars 90-8 and scored four times in both the first and second periods before adding eight goals in the third. Winning netminder Bailey Huber stopped six shots while losing netminder Jake Sumner had 76 saves. Mario Marietta and Jordan Linder each scored while Braeden Zaste had two assists for the North Stars.

On Saturday, Alexandria scored eight times in the second session and added five more goals in the third period for a convincing win. Zaste scored the only goal for Breezy Point.

Winning goalie Ville Hyttinen had 11 saves while Griffin Foster and Jacob Mitchell combined for 55 stops.

The North Stars play at Willmar Friday, Feb. 7, and at New Ulm Saturday, Feb. 8.
