Junior defenseman Ari LeMieur netted the walk-off goal for the Northern Lakes Lightning girls' hockey team in a 4-3 overtime win over the Detroit Lakes Lakers Tuesday, Nov. 20.

LeMieur finished with two goals and an assist, while Caitlyn Gutzman and Alyssa Koslowski also netted goals for Northern Lakes which improved to 3-1 overall, 2-0 in the Mid-State Conference.

The Lightning went into the first intermission with a two-goal lead, but gave up a Laker power-play goal early in the second period before Koslowski found the net with 6:43 left.

The Lakers responded in the third period with two goals of their own to tie the game.

With 2:15 left in the overtime period, LeMieur found the net on an unassisted goal.

Gutzman also recorded two assists in the game, while LeMieur, Elli Saxerud and Hayden Boelter each had one.

Lightning goalie Kate Stephens stopped 30 of the 33 shots she faced as the Lightning have won three straight since a 3-2 loss to Willmar in their season opener on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
