The Minnesota Blue Ox of the United States Premier Hockey League recently announced the signing of Josef Slepica of Deerwood for the 2021-21 season. Slepica attended Pequot Lakes High School and played previously for the Northern Lakes Lightning and Breezy Point North Stars.
Slepica spent the past season at TRC hockey academy in Brantford, Ontario, in a 10-month program that includes education, on- and off-ice training, team development and mental training.
The Blue Ox are co-owned by former Minnesota Wild head coach, Bruce Boudreau and have qualified for National Championships two out of the past four years.
