Golf: Patriot girls third at Crosswoods

Maddie Pederson tied for fifth and Hayden Boelter placed eighth to lead the Pequot Lakes Patriots to third place Thursday, April 18 in the Pequot Lakes Invite at Crosswoods Golf Course.

Pederson fired an 86 and Boelter's 88 was a personal best. It was one for personal best rounds for Pequot players.

"It was a great day for the Patriots," Pequot head coach Savannah Smith said. "We had many personal bests, which is encouraging since this is our first meet of the season. If we can continue to build off of this momentum, the next month and a half are going to be exciting for everyone.

"We shot our personal best team score (365) since I have been coaching and all four scores were under 100. These are huge improvements compared to last season and I am so proud of all their hard work."

Patriots 6th, Tigers 7th at Craguns

Hayden Boelter fired a 14th-place 97 to lead the Pequot Lakes Patriots to sixth place Monday, April 22, in the Cardinal Invite at Cragun's Legacy Courses.

Boelter fired a 97 on the par-72 Dutch Course. She was followed by Maddie Pederson's 99, which placed her 17th.

Pine River-Backus finished seventh with Bella Netland's 102 leading the way.
